1965 Morris Mini Cooper 1275 S
Nut & bolt restoration completed in 2017, Fantastic history, Show winning condition
A superb Mk 1 Mini Cooper S presented in its original colours of Old English White with Black roof and Grey/Gold Brocade Interior. Built in November 1965 and supplied to its first owner through Stuart and Arden in January 1966. With only 4 past owners, one of which owned the car for 40 years! this is a very special little Mini. The car was competed at club level through the late 70’s and went on to compete in international and national events throughout the 80’s, once being owned by legendary touring car driver Patrick Watts. The car has recently been restored to an exceptional standard with no expense spared. The restoration was started in 2012, with the body and paintwork undertaken by top Mini experts The Ennion Workshop. Every element of the car has been refurbished or replaced with the emphasis on retaining as much of the original components as possible. The original engine as rebuilt, the suspension and subframes have been sand blasted and painted, a new Autosparks wiring loom was fitted with the original components restored, a period interior has been recreated, exactly as it left the factory. This whole process has been documented with photo evidence and invoices for the work and parts, with the restoration completed in 2017. The finished car is built to the highest original factory specification with the exception of the modified suspension which was retained. The heritage certificate is present confirming matching numbers and original colours. The original buff logbook from 1966 is also present, along with the drivers handbook and a huge history folder of invoices, photos and information. The car featured in several magazine articles throughout its lifetime, copies of which are with the car. As we celebrate 60 years of the Mini this year values of early Coopers are on the rise. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire such a well restored piece of motoring history.
