1979 Porsche 911 SC Coupe – Project

A rare opportunity to acquire a highly original and unmolested 911 SC, offered as a light restoration project with superb provenance and an exceptional colour combination. This left hand drive, German market car has had just three owners from new and has remained within the same family since 1981. Finished in the unusual and very period colour Tobacco Metallic with Cork interior, this example also benefits from a sought after factory specification including non sunroof and also no rear spoiler. The car remains completely original and unrestored, retaining its factory paint and a beautifully preserved interior full of character.

Supplied new by Porsche Hamburg in June 1979, the car retains its original purchase invoice from Porsche Raffay, along with the original service book, historic service invoices, and even the letter from the first owner offering the car for sale in 1981. The car is running and driving, with the 3.0 litre flat six pulling well. However, it will require restoration work, including rust repairs to the offside sill, B-post and kidney bowl. The engine does also have an oil leak and would benefit from further attention. The paintwork shows age related wear with stone chips and imperfections but carries a huge amount of character and charm. It could be preserved and sympathetically repaired, or fully restored depending on the next owners vision.

This is an increasingly hard to find survivor car and with its long term family ownership, original condition and rare specification makes for a fantastic opportunity to create a highly desirable classic 911.
