1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Sport ‘Commemorative Edition’
Recent extensive restoration, Rebuilt Engine, 93K Miles, Stunning example
The 911 Carrera 3.2 ‘Commemorative Edition’ was built to celebrate the production of 250,000 911 models in 1988. There were only 50 right hand drive examples produced for the UK, this is 1 of just 30 Coupés, there were also 10 Targa’s and 10 Cabriolets. These sought after models featured a number of unique features including the Diamond Blue Metallic exterior colour and Silver Blue leather interior with Ferry Porsche’s signature on the headrests. They also had a comprehensive equipment level as standard including painted wheel centres, electric sunroof, electric seats, short-shift gear lever, sports suspension and the luxury carpet option. The car also benefits from the desirable G50 5-speed gearbox.
This particular example must be one of the very best, if not the best Commemorative coupe still on the road. With over £45,000 spent on restoration in 2017 with Williams Crawford and Dave Griffiths Racing, including body restoration and full paint as well as a top end engine rebuild. The result is outstanding! The car has covered just 93,000 miles and has a full documented Porsche and Porsche specialist service history accompanied by full photo documentation of its restoration which was extremely thorough and included a top end engine rebuild and new clutch, full stainless steel exhaust system, stainless heat exchangers and new Bilstein shock absorbers all round. Many parts were replaced or refurbished and everything is well documented with all invoices and the photographs on file. The car is now in incredible condition throughout. Also benefitting from a detailed history file covering absolutely all expenditure throughout its life. It’s been a pampered car since new. Supplied with its factory tool kit present, both keys and immobiliser fobs, full book pack and stamped service book.
The only non standard item is a £1,000 genuine Porsche Retro stereo with SatNav, Bluetooth and hands free, a superb upgrade. If you are looking for a G series 911, this is certainly one of the best currently on the market, purely due its rarity and recent expenditure. A future-proofed example, that will most certainly increase in value as time goes on.
