1970 VW Beetle
Restored to show condition, Rebuilt 1300 Engine, RHD
A stunning example of the classic VW Beetle. Magazine featured on the front of VolksWorld with a comprehensive restoration completed in 2015. The car was a labour of love and has had a huge amount of time and effort spent getting the car to where it is today. A 1970 body with pre ’68 front clip, bonnet, wings and decklid to give the appearance of an earlier car. Combined with some nice features such as the US spec stainless steel bumpers, original 60’s swan neck mirrors, refurbished original 60’s roof rack, the car really does have a great look about it. The car is structurally sound, with all new floors and any signs of rust now long gone. The engine is a very tidy, rebuilt 1300cc type 1 twin port which has just been serviced and had the rear main seal replaced, so the car isn’t dropping any oil whatsoever. There are some nice custom features present such as the fabricated washer container, polished copper fuel lines and polished brackets. The car is as nice underneath as it is on top! The interior is stock, other than the addition of a classic looking DAB radio, and is in lovely condition with classic black basket weave seats, Bambus parcel shelf, EMPI trigger shifter, grey carpets and Red Wolfsburg horn push to finish the look. The car is lowered with a brand new lowered front beam and new short shocks, also running a disc brake conversion on the front which helps to pull the car up nicely. The car is super clean throughout with all chrome and paintwork in excellent condition. Overall a unique, head turning beetle, in simply beautiful condition.
