1966 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 2+2
UK RHD, Manual, Restored, Rebuilt Engine, Fresh Paint
A beautiful example of one of the most elegant cars in the world. Although not in its original colour, this UK supplied RHD, 2+2 coupe looks absolutely stunning in this combination of Royal Blue paintwork with its superbly re trimmed Grey interior. Benefiting from the more desirable manual gear box, this matching numbers example has clearly had a sizeable amount of money spent on it in recent years to bring it up to this high standard. The panel gaps are very good, shut lines are neat and there is absolutely zero rust anywhere on the car. Unfortunately there is very little history with the car, other than we know it was largely restored in the Netherlands before being repatriated back to the the UK in August 2018. We have the heritage certificate on file, confirming the matching numbers and that the car was originally supplied by Henly’s of London in July 1966. The car runs and drives very well, with the engine and gearbox feeling noticeably smooth, with no smoke or any oil leaks to mention. The car pulls well, steering feels precise and the brakes stop the car evenly. The brightwork is very good on the whole, but is showing small signs of its age in places. The interior is in great shape and has obviously been trimmed by a professional. The floors and bulkhead are completely solid, as is the boot floor and there are no signs of filler anywhere. The car holds good oil pressure and the temperature stays constant. The car has covered just 15 miles since its last full service and will be supplied with 12 Months MOT. Delivery is available at cost. Overall this is a very tidy, perfectly usable Series 1 E-Type, which is very well priced for a RHD manual variant in this clean and tidy condition.
